Please find below a sample itinerary of our upcoming art history tour of Florence & Venice.

Details in the day-to-day itinerary are subject to change.
Any changes made will be to further enhance and enrich the quality of the experience.
Except for Day 1, all days include breakfast at the hotel.
Day 1
Welcome to Firenze (Florence)!
​
Afternoon: Make your way to Florence for the afternoon of Day 1. Check-in to your accommodation, and then make your way into the city to view Florence's prestigious art restoration and conservation school. We will then enjoy a relaxing antipasti and wine tasting from the region.

Evening: Free time or optional walk to Piazzale Michelangelo
Day 2
Morning: We will explore the wonderful art in Florence's cathedrals, starting with the Basilica Santa Maria Novella. On our way to morning tea we will learn about, and explore, the exterior art of the Baptistry, Belltower, and Catedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore. We will then enjoy a pastry and coffee break.

Afternoon: We will then explore the amazing Basilica di Santa Croce and the Florentine Leather school before enjoying lunch at a modern Tuscan restaurant.​

Evening: Free time
Day 3
Morning: To learn all about the Medici family, who ruled Florence during the 15th-18th centuries, we will visit the Palazzo Medici Riccardi and the Medici Chapel.
Afternoon: We will enjoy lunch at a Neopolitan pizzeria before exploring Piazza del Signoria and the exterior of the Orsanmichele, and finishing our afternoon with delicious gelato!

Evening: Free time
Day 4
Morning: Museum day starting at the Museo Nationale di Bargello to view their impressive sculptures, especially by the maestro Donatello.
​
Afternoon: For lunch, sample the famous Florentine steak at a restaurant who serve it as their specialty. We will need this fuel for our trip to the Uffizi to view their highlights.

Evening: Free time
Day 5
Morning: Travel to Venice via train in premium class.

Welcome to Venezia (Venice)!
Hotel check-in before walking to Chiesa di San Pantalon and then visiting Pasticceria Tonolo for a coffee and pastry 'pick-me-up'.
​
Afternoon: We will visit two buildings important to the Venetian Renaissance, the Scuola Grande di San Rocco and the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa di Frari before enjoying a traditional Venetian lunch. ​
​
Evening: Free time
Day 6
Morning: Visit the Gallerie dell'Accademia to enjoy pre-19th Century Venetian art.
​
Afternoon: After a leisurely lunch at one of Venice's most beloved restaurants, we will walk to the Rialto bridge for gelato.​
​
Evening: Free time or optional evening stroll to Cannareggio through the Jewish Quarter to go to a local bar for traditional Venetian cicchetti
Day 7
Morning: We start our last full day together with a 'Shock of the Modern Day' by visiting the Peggy Guggenheim Collection.
Afternoon: Aperol Spritz is the drink of Venice, and cicchetti is the snack of Venice. We will enjoy both at one of Venice's most loved cicchetti bars.
Free time.

Evening: Farewell dinner.
Day 8
Morning: Check-out.
